Judges are selected based on their experience and qualification. We aim to have large panels of independent professionals, enabling us to allocate a reasonable number of entries to each judge to ensure that the evaluation is thorough.

He spent 9 years at Cisco Systems Inc. and his last role was the Director of Operations covering the EMEA region with a mandate of transforming the sales business model from a customer-led model to a $3 billion partner-led one, and introducing a higher level of innovation within the eco-system of channel partners
Prior to joining Cisco, Yousef served as the head of marketing for Microsoft Inc. and was responsible for Microsoft’s overall brand positioning, CSR, and corporate communications & affairs in the Middle East region.
Yousef worked within the public sector as well, and was part of the founding team behind Dubai e-Government with a mission to help achieve H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid’s vision of having 70% of all Dubai government’s transactions done online within 3 years back in 2001.

After 15 years of success in the IT industry, including being recognised as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, Karl turned his attention to the cleantech industry in 2006. He started The Neutral Group to reduce energy and carbon for multinational companies and governments. In 2010 The Neutral Group began work on a sustainability strategy for the McDonald’s supply chain. Karl moved with his family to the UAE where he founded the highly successful Neutral Fuels to formalise The Neutral Group’s biofuel business.
In 2011 Neutral Fuels pioneered commercial biofuel production in the Middle East when it commissioned the UAE’s first licensed biorefinery in Dubai. Then, it was the Middle East’s first commercial producer and seller of biodiesel converted from used cooking oil; now it is the GCC’s largest and most successful. In 2017, after two years of research, Neutral Fuels became the first company to successfully use waste dairy products as a feedstock for creating commercial biofuel. Research and development in other feedstocks is ongoing.
Karl has pioneered and led best practice in the sector, helping Dubai towards its ‘Zero Waste 2030’ goals and turning it into a regional Biofuels Knowledge Centre. As the regional expert on biofuels and their adoption in the Middle East, he and the company have won many awards in recognition of pioneering energy and carbon savings in the region.
